Gasherbrum-II Expedition

Gasherbrum II, also known as K4, is the 13th highest mountain in the world, with an elevation of 8,035 meters (26,362 feet). It is located in the Karakoram mountain range on the border between Pakistan and China, near the Baltoro Glacier.

The first successful ascent of Gasherbrum II was made in 1956 by an Austrian team led by Fritz Moravec. Since then, many climbers from around the world have attempted to climb this peak, and it has become a popular destination for mountaineers.

The base camp for Gasherbrum II is located on the Baltoro Glacier, which is a popular trekking route in the region. The trek to the base camp starts from the town of Skardu, which can be reached by a flight from Islamabad or by a long drive from Gilgit.

The climbing season for Gasherbrum II is from June to August, which is the peak climbing season in the region.
