Chogolisa is located in the Karakoram range in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. It has two peaks, with the higher peak, Chogolisa I, standing at 7,668 meters (25,160 feet) above sea level.

It is the 11th highest mountain in the world, with an elevation of 8,080 meters (26,509 feet). Gasherbrum I is present between the highest peaks in Karakoram Mountain Range. Gasherbrum I is also known as GI. There is a total of six Gasherbrum peaks in the region. However, the GI is the tallest among all Gasherbrum Mountains.
